Christmas Eve...

Well, technically it came.... and went.  But I have been so busy my poor blog has been neglected.  So lets just rewind and catch up.  So every Christmas Eve we make cookies for Santa.  Earlier that day we had spent hours making cookies to take down to the submarine for all the Sailors who have to work on Christmas.... and for Santa we decided to make some gingerbread men.  I tried helping Harper put the ingredients in the bowl but she wanted to do it alone.  Little Miss Independent.  So we compromised- I would dump the ingredients and she would stir.

We put the cookies in to cook while she took her bath and got ready for bed.  After a much needed bath-  (we managed to get all the flour out of her ears, and cinnamon out of her hair)  we all got in our matching pajamas that my mother made for us and got Santa's cookie plate ready!!  We also had to be sure to leave some carrots for the reindeer!!

So with Harper in bed.... with visions of sugar plums dancing in her head... Santa's Elf's had to get to work.  After over 2 hours of putting a play kitchen together, and still a wagon to go... we were wondering what happened to the good ol' days of the REAL elf's putting this stuff together before they dropped it off??  Granted our elf's drive big brown trucks... and some of them wear those short short brown shorts even when its 12 degrees out!!  Anyway! Everything obviously got together.... and here's what it looked like before we went to bed.

Obviously we had quite a Christmas.... but lets not forget the reason for the season!
Merry Christmas Everyone!!

  1. LOVE THIS POST TOO!! I laughed and smiled!! Harper just makes me smile thinking of her, but reading about her is the best! The elves that wear the little brown uniforms made me laugh hard!! You forgot to write though how they drive 100 mph everywhere they go and basically sprint to and from the door!! HAHAHA!! At least thats my experience from them! =) Looks like you had a wonderful Christmas..and to think our presents weren't even in that mix! Hope they too bring smiles to your faces! =)
p.s. LOVE the pajamas!! Your mom rocks!
