Mystery Trip

This past weekend my mom had flown out to spend some time with us.  She had emailed us "clues" about a "Mystery Trip" she was going to send us on. We had NO idea what we were in for.  All we really knew was we needed to dress warm, we needed the GPS, and to have an open mind.  So Saturday afternoon, we kissed Harper good bye and set out to our mysterious destination.  When we arrived at our destination I was soooo excited. We were at 

 Cedar Knoll Farms where there was a white carriage and 2 beautiful horses waiting for us.

Before we left on our ride we got to meet 2 of their colts, Jesse and Layla.  They were HUGE, but only 7 months.  I have wanted horses for as long as I can remember... so getting a few hours to hang out with them was one of the best presents anyone could have given me.

We originally were going to go on a sleigh ride I guess, but due to the 3 feet of snow we have sitting on the ground out here they said the carriage would be safer for us and the horses.  Which was fine with us... we were just so excited to be doing anything like this.

We took an hour ride through the town of Lisbon... it was breathtakingly beautiful.

We talked the entire ride... I think just because we could.  It was quiet... and for 1 hour we had nothing to worry about... it was like someone pushed pause in life... and gave us an hour to remember to cherish time we have together. Not that we don't love every minute with Harper, but it was nice to be "us" again.  So thanks mom (meyow ha ha ha) for a wonderful early Birthday gift!
