Pumpkin Time

"When witches go riding, and black cats are seen.... The moon laughs and whispers-
TIS NEAR HALLOWEEN!!"

Tis near Halloween indeed.  My faaaavorite time of year... well- till Christmas time ha ha ha.  There are new fall scents in the scentsy, tombstones in the front yard, and bowls of candy all over the house.  This time of year always brings back the happiest memories from when I was a kid.  I don't know why this one Halloween sticks out to me so bad... (maybe its because if you saw the pics you would be like WOW ID REMEMBER THAT HAIR-DO TOO) AHAHHAAA.Anyway- we always carved pumpkins... and of coarse this year was no different... but we had made a tent out of the kitchen table, made rice crispy treats... and THE POWER WENT OUT!! Creepy right?!  My mother told us this ghost story about some guy who got his arm chopped off and kept saying "I gotcha where I wantcha and now I'm going to eatcha!!" hahaa. Every time Halloween stuff gets put out in stores- that night comes rushing back to me. That and the image of this STUPID SILVER BOWL ON TOP OF THE ENTERTAINMENT CENTER. (BUT THAT'S A WHOOOOLE OTHER STORY) AHHHAHA

Here at the Peterson House, no Halloween would be complete without our annual trip to the Pumpkin Patch.
This year our friends Ryan and Ally took us to a different patch than we usually go to.  Harper enjoyed the ride...
rockin out to LMFAO.
(excuse that its sideways)

So once we got there...
we had a quick wardrobe change for Harper....

and after literately 35 minutes
she finally decided on a pumpkin
that was perfect for her to paint!!

She had a ball picking up pumpkins...
looking at them,
lining them up,
and sometimes even throwing them
if they were light enough ha ha ha.

We all had a wonderful time...

So- obviously after all of our hard work, we needed to have a "Carving & Painting Party"!!  (Any excuse to get together and have dinner and cupcakes right!?)  So I made soup, Ally made grilled cheese and we set up shop.

Little Picasso was soooo serious about her painting!!

And so were Ry and Josh.... (she must get it from Josh)

Because we were all fun and games on the girls side of the table...

hahahahahha

But we did complete our pumpkins...
and we even separated the seeds for roasting!

We sent the boys out for some candles so we could see our final projects... Alys is on the left and mine is on the right.  And we had a little too much fun dressing up Harper and Dies in their matching outfits.

HAPPY HAUNTINGS
